Carolyn specializes in sophisticated and highly personalized estate plans for individuals and families, administering complicated estates and preparing the estates tax returns.

After practicing for more than 20 years with a downtown law firm, Carolyn opened her own office in 2001. Her practice focuses on formulating sophisticated and highly personalized estate plans for individuals and families. She also devotes a significant portion of her practice to administering complicated estates and preparing the estates tax returns.

Carolyn is past president of Women’s Care Foundation and the Oregon Women Lawyers Foundation. She serves on the board of advisors for the Wayne and Joan Kuni Foundation, which make grants for supported living arrangements for adult retarded citizens and cutting- edge cancer research.

Carolyn W. Miller obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1975. She received her law degree from Willamette University College of Law in 1978, and began the practice of law in Salem, Oregon. She joined Duffy Kekel in 1982, where her practice emphasized estate planning, probate, trust administration, taxation of estates, trusts and individuals, charitable planning and administration, tax exempt organizations and private foundations.  She opened her own firm in 2001.

Carolyn is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington. She is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and in 1995 received the Oregon State Bar President’s Membership Services Award recognizing outstanding service to members of the Bar. Her contributions include serving as Chair of the Oregon State Bar Taxation Section, member and Officer of the Estate Planning and Administration Section, and President of the Estate Planning Council of Portland. She has served as editor of Administering Trust in Oregon (2005 Edition) and has written on many estate planning and administration topics.

Carolyn's greatest passion is her family.  She is married to her husband, Thomas, whom she met while attending Willamette University College of Law. She has two sons, a junior at Drew University and a senior at Riverdale High School.

Carolyn is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).  Carolyn is an avid reader, who enjoys mysteries and race horse breeding.  She enjoys cooking and scrapbooking her family history.
